- Description
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Kitchen/Chef Manager to lead day-to-day
kitchen operations within a modern, health-focused, fast-casual food concept.
Under the guidance of Michelin star trained Chef owner.
This is not a traditional head chef role.
This role is for someone who takes pride in precision, consistency, pace, and standards.
You will be the anchor of the kitchen. Calm under pressure. Obsessive about cleanliness.
Reliable to the minute. Someone the team trusts and follows because your standards never
slip.
If you believe that great food starts with discipline, structure, and respect for
ingredients, this will feel like home.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Owning the daily running of the kitchen from open to close
Preparing and executing simple but elite food with absolute consistency
Ensuring food quality, portioning, seasoning, and presentation are non-negotiable
Managing prep, service flow, and close-down to exact standards
Maintaining exceptional cleanliness and organisation at all times
Enforcing food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures without exception
Training kitchen staff to work fast, clean, and calmly
Managing stock levels, ordering, rotation, and waste control
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance standards for kitchen team
members
Creating a kitchen culture that is focused, positive, disciplined, and respectful
Handling issues quickly, practically, and without ego
The Kind of Person We’re Looking For
You don’t need Michelin stars.
You do need standards.
Proven experience working in a busy restaurant or fast-paced kitchen environment
Confident preparing fresh food at volume
Naturally organised with strong mise en place habits
Exceptionally punctual
Calm under pressure, even during peak service
Comfortable working on your feet in a high-energy environment
Genuinely interested in health, nutrition, and how food makes people feel
Comfortable leading others without shouting or ego
Takes responsibility instead of making excuses
Notices small details others miss
Treats the kitchen as a craft, not just a job
If you care about health, discipline, and doing things properly, this role will suit
you extremely well.
Hours of work 10am-8pm (Wed- Sunday) Approx 45 hours per week
Pay: £17-£18 per hour + quarterly bonus scheme
