- Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a City Centre based NFP organisation a Finance Officer to assist in the effective management and administration of the Finance, Information and Communication Technology and Facilities Functions within the Organisation.
6 month temporary will possible extension.
Main duties will include:
- Maintenance of the Purchase Ledger, ensuring all invoices are correctly authorised and properly accounted for, and correctly posted to the financial system.
- Overseeing the preparation of all cheque payments by the Administrative Officer, ensuring that all expenditure has been properly incurred, that adequate documentation is in place, and that payments are sent out in a timely manner.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Assistance in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and annual financial accounts.
- Support the Corporate Services Manager in liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure the effective completion of audit programmes.
- Preparation of payroll and liaison with the external payroll bureau.
- Assistance in setting up and maintaining budgets, apportionments and variances.
- Liaison with Heads of Departments on business plans and projects and provision of reports and advice on budgets and expenditure and, where required, provision of financial modelling of same.
- Use of the financial systems to analyse and interpret financial information and assist in providing a reporting system to Senior Management.
- Assist in the oversight of the ICT Service Level Agreement, support arrangements and licencing agreements.
- Contribution to the ongoing development of the organisation’s ICT strategy.
- Development and review of policies to ensure best practice is adhered to.
- Oversight of ICT assets, including booking of equipment.
- Monitoring of contracts for facilities management services provided.
- Oversight of maintenance and maintenance records.
Essential Criteria:
As a minimum requirement, applicants must have the following:
· A Degree in a Business-Related Discipline and at least two year’s experience in a Finance-related environment; or at least four year’s experience in a Finance-related environment;
· Good written and verbal communications skills;
· Experience in the analysis and presentation of statistical/financial information; and
· Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office application in particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Experience in the use of a financial system and use of a purchase and nominal ledger (eg Sun systems, Sage, Pegasus, etc).
Hours of work - 9.00am -5.00pm (Mon -Fri)
